ABSTRACT

The coach may suggest to the coachee that they might wish to set a launch date for implementing their action plan. Once the coach and coachee have agreed on a development-based objective (DBO), the next stage in development-focused rational emotive behavioural coaching (DF-REBC) is to help them devise an action plan and implement it. In brief, designing a plan involves the coach helping the coachee to determine what they are going to do to achieve their DBO, while implementing the plan involves helping them to determine how they are going to put their action plan into practice. When the coachee has launched their action plan, the coach has several tasks to perform in order to help them to stay on course towards their DBO. Any changes to the coachee's action plan should arise out of their experiences of implementing it and any difficulties should be addressed.
