ABSTRACT
This is the first of five student interviews. Tom is a college student whose dependence on marijuana, especially high-THC oils and waxes (known as “dabs”), has been part of a descent into addiction to other substances including alcohol and amphetamines. It has also been—according to Tom—a crutch, an asset that has allowed him to bounce back from this difficult episode in his life.
