ABSTRACT

We gratefully acknowledge the support of professional organizations, individuals and educational institutions in producing this book. The Commit tee of the Division of Educational and Child Psychology of the British Psychological Society sponsored two international symposia bearing on the matters with which this book is concerned and also gave their permission for the use of certain papers that were presented. Additionally, we are indebted to individuals who contributed to a symposium organized under the aegis of the former International Centre for Intercultural Studies of the University of Bradford. Finally, our thanks are due to the Centre for Ethnic Studies in Education and the Centre for Educational Guidance and Special Needs of the University of Manchester for encouraging the editors to mount a national conference on multicultural education in October 1986.
