ABSTRACT
The amount of time young people spend in school, from preschool to twelfth grade, is so significant that it is important to recognize that much of this time is devoted to living as well as learning. The quality of this living, therefore, is an important matter (Gump 1987). Both the quality of student life and the quality of education are directly affected by the quality of the school environment.
