ABSTRACT

This chapter describes how parents with a history of complex, intrafamilial trauma often present with avoidant or dismissing attachment patterns. It introduces readers to specific strategies for addressing the avoidance of emotion and attachment-related memories, as well as working directly with emotion in the context of trauma history.
