ABSTRACT
The Nuremberg International Military Tribunal was the first trial in history for crimes against the peace of the world. Robert H. Jackson, as Chief Counsel for the United States to the Nuremberg Trial, insisted in his opening statement in November 1945 that the Nazi criminals be brought to justice according the rule of law. The Nuremberg Trial proved to the world that dignity and Human Rights could be claimed effectively.
