ABSTRACT
This chapter covers three-dimensional elastic and plastic solutions to structural components and, where possible, compares the results with the corresponding two-dimensional solutions. Examples include rotation of circular disks, semi-infinite solids subjected to loads on the boundary, contact problems (two spherical bodies and flat cylinders and wedges against horizontal boundaries), and large solid containing semi-infinite cut or crack loaded by normal and tangential loads on crack surfaces.
