ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces Part III, which is about using music as a tool in organisational and leadership development. Aesthetic experience offers a broader range of knowledge than verbal articulation, as it allows us to dwell on wordless perceptions and interpretations and often includes the tacit doing-knowledge which is associated with crafts. Nurturing one’s aesthetic reflexivity therefore enhances the ability to understand team dynamics, as well as the impact of one’s own leader behaviour. This chapter discusses various categories of aesthetic development interventions and how they might enhance team and leadership effectiveness.
