ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a language teacher with lots of different ideas and techniques to support him/her in becoming an outstanding teacher. Every teacher finds his/her own particular way of working, but he/she would do well to observe as many colleagues as possible, have regular conversations about methodology, read books and blogs, engage with social media, and even video himself/herself at work. As exam syllabuses change, teachers are constantly focused on the details of the latest curriculum and perhaps spend less time than they would like to in re-evaluating the fundamentals of their craft. Although classroom time is limited and teachers have to make sure that students are prepared for assessment, but if they bear in mind that much of the language they teach is transferable from topic to topic, they can teach with resources that do not necessarily feature in the syllabus.
