ABSTRACT
This chapter elaborates various applications of ceramic membranes, such as removal of volatile organic compounds, acid gases, SO2, and mercury; wastewater treatment; fruit juice clarification; and heavy metal separation. Furthermore, an example of using membrane contactors for the recovery of aroma compounds is discussed. A novel application of a ceramic membrane in a fuel cell is also described. Commercial applications, along with other applications including new categories of ceramic membrane use, are also discussed.
