ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the details of the rehabilitation hospital the author was to attend for a significant amount of time. Although his emergency treatment was handled with great skill, aplomb and professionalism by the staff at St Claude and Jean Minjoz hospitals, his further rehabilitation would need to be dealt with at a specialist centre due to the complications of his severe brain injury. After a suitable interlude after his arrival at the Wellington hospital, he was visited by his supervising physician, Dr Richard Greenwood. Suffering from amnesia, he had no idea where he was or who he was talking to. The Wellington hospital is located in leafy St John's Wood, just above Regent's Park, an affluent borough of London. Moving on from the description of the patients to the physical surroundings, the Wellington hospital prided itself on providing the best possible environment for healing.
