ABSTRACT

Project Based Learning (PBL) is a learning approach adopted from the concept of constructivist-based learning. The characteristics of PBL are stressed as authenticity, student-centered, and work on product-based projects. Therefore, alternative assessment is used in PBL. The innovation of the assessment tool designed in this study is carried out to meet the demands of technological developments and the demands of using alternative assessments that help lecturers to apply the assessment. One assessment that is needed is an assessment of creativity. The variables of creativity used as an assessment input in the PBL model include fluency, flexibility, and novelty. The method used was a quasi-experimental design with the posttest Only Design with Nonequivalent Groups. The subjects were 82 students. The Fuzzy Grading System-based (FGS) creativity assessment tool is potentially used as an alternative assessment method in schools, polytechnics or universities.
