ABSTRACT

This research aims to describe lecturers’ understanding and implementation of authentic assessment based on the Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) curriculum in Applied Statistics. This study was conducted using qualitative descriptive research. The subjects are Applied Statistics lecturers and students of Class C, year 2014, at Adi Buana PGRI University. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was done through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The validity of the data was tested by implementing data checking and triangulation. The results showed that: 1) the lecturer knows authentic assessment in the teaching of Applied Statistics; 2) the lecturer has implemented authentic assessments in the teaching of Applied Statistics, which include attitude, knowledge, and skill competency assessments. Attitude competency assessment has been carried out through observation, self-assessments, peer assessments, and assessments of the journals. Competency assessment has been carried out through technical knowledge, written tests, oral tests, and assignments. Skills competency assessment has been carried out through performance assessments, project assessments, product assessments, and portfolio assessments.
