ABSTRACT
Loess civilization belongs to the regional culture, but it has its own unique characteristics, special features and typicality, which makes it far beyond the limitations of its own region. This paper, from the perspective of loess civilization analysis, pointed out that focusing on the mining area is the foundation of achieving the harmony between nature and human beings. Only through the implementation of the harmonious development mechanism and advancement of the mining area construction via the perspective of ecological civilization, can the mining area achieve true harmony. Mining wasteland is the type of land type that causes tremendous damages to the environment, turning surrounding land resources into a waste. The purpose of this paper is to discuss various ways to rational reconstruction, to explore means to turn “wasteland” into ‘treasure-land’, and to perform in-depth research on the reasonable restoration of landscape and ecology on mining wasteland. Furthermore, this paper applies theories, methods and principles of landscape design and ecological restoration into concrete actionable tasks that help ecological restoration and landscape space design. These actions can meet the basic needs of ecological restoration and landscape reconstruction on wasteland, and the requirements of sustainable economic and social development.
