ABSTRACT

The paper presents an optimization procedure of a light diffuser reinforced with frame, designated for a small wind turbine mounted on a light pole with guywires. The diffuser structure consists of multiple beams and metal sheets. This kind of structure is suitable for optimization in terms of selection of reinforcements quantity, dimensions, sheet thickness, etc. The optimization approach assumes the reduction of the amount of work performed between the optimization process and the final solution. The optimization methodology uses the genetic algorithm to generate the optimal layout of the shell reinforcement and the supporting structure.
