ABSTRACT

In a climate of rampant and institutionalised islamophobia, the young Muslim men and women do not just criticise the system or stay stuck in reactive attitudes; they rather bring solutions with themselves, turning public services into supporters. The term of interpenetration would hardly find a better illustration than one of the Muslim charities and volunteers working across Europe at the dawn of the third millennia. The young Muslims in the research practise Islam in light of the European context while building a new Europe in light of Islam. In spaces like Rumi’s Cave, young Muslims can have fun and gain wisdom at the same time. Concepts embraced by this generation of young Muslims, like the trends of veganism, yoga and others, are found in mainstream society and are not necessarily based on a certain spirituality.
