ABSTRACT
A city is a large and permanent human settlement run by a local government. This chapter focusses on Digital Immunity (DI) as the best protection for a Smart City. It talks about how cybersecurity got immersed into these two technologies and brought a totally different perspective to the whole security continuum. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be merged with the nano world and create super intelligent computing machines that will be the best protection for a Smart City. A Smart City needs a central coordination center to capture, analyze, and respond to all the messages in the city. A Smart City needs a very conductive real-time grid to safely transport the intelligent messages without collision or conflict. Adaptive DI is the Holy Grail of a Smart City. The Smart City is a deep ocean with unknown depths and many unforeseeable surprises. The chapter develops a complex polynomial that represents all the influencing variables that make up Smart City solutions.
