ABSTRACT

The modern health sciences article starts at the very moment when the thesis is developed, the research is conceived, the motive is formulated, and the research plan is developed. The mixed-methods research questions methodology in health sciences are developing. A more complete research thesis may contain up to seven components, depending on the subject and circumstances. These include the description of the research topic, the critically appraised best evidence available, the research objectives, the research hypothesis, the research question itself, definitions of all of the above entities and their components, and the context and setting in which research is done. An article as an exercise in argumentation is initiated at its very beginning by some initial claim which is clarified and proven throughout the whole argumentative process. The research cornerstones which follow apply equally well to writing research projects, applications for research funding, and other discussions and procedures aimed at starting research.
