ABSTRACT
In the final chapter of this multi-sited journey, I seek to understand the impact of sport-based water charity from the perspective of the individuals in the country receiving the water aid. This involved taking two trips to Ethiopia, one to the Southern region and one to the capital city of Addis Ababa. In the first trip, I went to water-aid sites and spoke with organizational leaders on the ground where the systems were being implemented. This involved visiting villages where water projects were first being investigated but no implementation had started, a village where a water project was in progress, and two villages where water projects had been completed. The second visit involved trying to understand how charities in general operate in Ethiopia from a structural perspective. These two trips are treated together in the chapter, as the second one mostly adds context to some of the difficulties in global non-profit aid.
