ABSTRACT

Fagan is helping everybody to pick pockets and convincing them that it is OK to steal from others. Even if legal to pick pockets, it is an activity that adds no value to society. This is different from most jobs. Most jobs, in addition to the person earning money, add value to society. Anybody who works for a grocery store, for example, has a job that is valuable to society. Regardless of what task a person has, they are helping ensure the public has a place where they can buy groceries. A person who makes his or her living painting also enhances peoples’ lives with their art. Actors provide value for everybody who watches their performance(s), and teachers are helping to educate people. Most jobs contribute to society in addition to providing income to the worker.
