ABSTRACT
Firmin and Andre discuss the business of the theatre. They have been threatened by the Phantom to replace Carlotta with Christine, but Firmin just seems to be concerned with sales, as he says “at least the seats get sold” and “half your cast disappears but the crowd still cheers.” While Andre is upset that people are walking out, Firmin tells him they should just be happy about the free publicity.
