ABSTRACT

The game “Would you rather?” has been played by millions of people. It is simple – a person is asked to decide between two (usually, but not always unpleasant) options. The game illustrates trade-offs nicely, as the person is usually deciding between two things, and taking one means giving up the other. “Simple Joys” from Pippin describes several unpleasant “Would you rather?” scenarios as likely being better than “a man who never learns how to be free” including a “crab on a slab” and a “newt on a root.”
