ABSTRACT

Princeton, a new college graduate singing about life, is wondering what he’ll do with his “useless degree” in English. He sings “four years in college and plenty of knowledge have earned me this worthless degree.” The singer is being a bit dramatic, as there still is a great value in attaining a college degree – any college degree. Recent studies have found that the average college graduate in the United States earns 70% more annually and 84% more over a lifetime than somebody with just a high school degree. 1
