ABSTRACT

The Engineer must issue a Notice at least seven days before the intended date of measurement and the Notice must describe the part to be measured and the place where the measurement will take place. There is an option for the Parties to agree an amendment of the date. The Method of Measurement shall be as stated in the Contract Data or, if not so stated, that which shall be in accordance with the Bill of Quantities or other applicable Schedule(s). The first paragraph directs the Parties as to where the Method of Measurement might be located. It is, of course, possible that the Method of Measurement is not located in any of the suggested locations. In that situation there should be a fallback provision, which allows the Parties to adopt a standard Method of Measurement.
