ABSTRACT

Bad testing can have a big impact on the customer’s experience of the product. This adverse customer impact has an impact on the profit margins of the product and volumes of the product sold, not to mention the impact of potential legal action. Poor testing can be expensive. Spending many hours and much money on testing and missing product nonconformances or other problem areas is worse yet. Finding a fault or software defect is only the beginning. Once the bug is reported, a follow-up in the form of a corrective action is in order. The test plan should be created by the independent verification and validation team, whether they are internal or external. The automotive test standard SAE J1455 says the nominal voltage for a 12-volt motor vehicle is 14.2 volts.
