ABSTRACT

Exit Tickets are a great way to see what students know at the end of a period of instruction. While they can be in a Supply Response format, here we will detail how to use them by giving students responses to choose from. The teacher should explain the expectations for completing the Exit Ticket beforehand, such as whether students may speak or use their notes and how they turn in the ticket. Shalamar refers to the following competency and unpacks it: Shalamar teaches a lesson on guidance, discipline, and punishment, including providing definitions and case studies for students to review and sort based on the definitions. She spends the day helping students to understand the definitions and examples of them, which is at the Understand level. At the end of the lesson, the teacher gives students Select Response items on the material learned during that period.
