ABSTRACT

The third chapter argues that making space is an essential communication concern of sharing in project management based on the results of the first case study. By making space, I argue that project managers communicate to extend a symbolic invitation to participate in project work. The invitation serves as an opportunity for people to exercise agency. The case assembles the themes of the interviews into factors project managers consider when making space as workplace writers, and the strategies they use to invite teams and stakeholders to participate in project work. Readers will gain an understanding of what factors and strategies project managers consider when communicating with others.
