ABSTRACT

The theoretical advancements in framing theory and the methodological contributions to framing analysis are addressed (integrative framing, multimodal framing, verbal framing, visual framing). Despite the topic selected for the empirical test of the methodological approach proposed in Chapter 5, this approach can be applied to the study of any topic, including framing of immigration, framing of asylum seekers, framing of the European Union, framing of financial crisis, framing of terrorism, and framing of terrorist attacks. It is not limited to health communication, but rather it can be used in political communication, sociology, and analyses of the media coverage.
