ABSTRACT

This final chapter concludes the book. It shows how the findings of this book contribute insights relevant for the practice of peacebuilding. Particularly, the heterogenous nature of the ‘local’, often underestimated in peacebuilding practice, was something that emerged clearly from this analysis. It demonstrates that micro-level analysis is highly relevant for peacebuilding practice as many conflict dynamics differ at the community-level compared to the national level. The chapter hence argues for the need to re-evaluate the national-level focus of peacebuilding missions.
