ABSTRACT

This chapter addresses the relevance and importance of cloud computing in e-HRM. The hyper competitive and challenging business environment have forced modern organisations to constantly search for cost savings, time efficiency, flexibility, scalability and improved performance in all aspects of management, including HRM. Cloud technology promises to be a key enabler in this regard. Accordingly, this chapter provides an in-depth understanding of cloud technology in the form of various cloud features along with different cloud deployment models. It explains how cloud technology can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of various HRM functions and provides a critical review of its advantages and limitations.
