ABSTRACT

Same review process as STAR topic.

Select When planning which vocabulary to teach, first analyse the curriculum word list and identify the really useful ‘Goldilocks’ words. After all the ‘Goldilocks’ words for a topic have been identified, the list of selected words should be further analysed. Identify any concepts that are particularly new or abstract and for which a brief introduction will not be enough. These concepts are circled on the planning sheet.

See the following example in which the concepts are circled.
