ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the auditory experiences respond to best as hearing becomes attuned to the world. Then it suggests why might want to seek out sounds that intermittently get responded to by Sensory Beings, as well as those that always yield a positive response. The chapter explores different types of sound look for ideas for new sounds to share. Different types of sound are processed by different places in the brain. It may be that the person people support is better able to process certain types of sound over others. Their brain may process different sounds at different intensities: they may find some sounds overwhelming, whilst other sounds are hard to register. Short sounds send adrenalin pumping through our veins and can lead to periods of heightened alertness. Laughter is a super sound. Laughter has enormous potential for enriching the lives of Sensory Beings, and the lives of those who support them.
