Children with a repaired cleft palate usually have a speech assessment at the age of

18 months/two years by a specialist speech and language therapist, followed by

assessments at age three, five, 10 and 15 years (for audit as well as clinical purposes).

However, a therapist working in the community may be asked to see a child with a
