ABSTRACT

The session intends to help learners to begin to develop the skills to improve their ability to manage themselves, their relationships, stress, the impression they make on others and how people respond to them. Developing self-management skills will enable them to have more control over interactions. Developing self-management skills entails learning from experience and being appropriate to the situation. Strict time-keeping may be necessary at work, and when dealing with authority, but it may be less important with some family members. A person may take and deal well with criticism at work but deal with it badly at home or with friends in personal relationships. A certain amount of stress is necessary to function well. Many strategies have been discussed throughout the course which can be used as part of self-management. Much can be done to relieve stress and most of its undesirable effects can be prevented by good self-management.
