ABSTRACT

Did you know that a lack of sleep can lead to irritability and a lack of focus and concentration, as well as tiredness and fatigue? Long-term lack of sleep can also lead to depression and anxiety, as well as increasing the risk of heart disease, diabetes and obesity (NHS, 2013). Research suggests that a lack of sleep in young people can lead to poor performance in school which can have a negative effect on memory, concentration and behaviour (NHS, 2013).
