ABSTRACT

Overview This book originally developed out of resources and activities used when I was working in the classroom with young people who had a range of special educational needs (SEN). As a teacher, I was seeking a method of transforming the rather abstract concept of mental wellbeing to something more concrete and visual. Many students felt sad or worried, could not identify why and could not imagine what they could do to help themselves feel better. Other students were asking difficult questions, such as ‘Why are some people happy all of the time but I’m not?’ or ‘If my parents are depressed, does that mean I will be too when I grow up?’
