ABSTRACT

On the following Monday morning, I had an appointment with a parent in a special school where I was the linked Educational Psychologist. As usual, I arrived at the school early, well before the appointment, allowing time to talk to staff about how things were going in the school. On speaking to the lead teacher for autism, it emerged that she too had spent Sunday reading the same book. We commented that it seemed useful and went our separate ways, meeting up later with the parent.
