ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses various methods, their alternatives, and related comments to guide group members for tracing and copying, exploring freehand mixed media, still life, people, nature and imagination. Tracing enables most people to copy any image they want, with as little or as much detail as they wish. It is a good way to build confidence and practise drawing skills. Larger images are helpful to people with limited sight, and those with limited dexterity. Nature is a truly inspiring subject for any artist. However, some adults with certain disabilities only get the chance to observe nature through books, television and a nearby window. Every artist needs to experience nature in the raw, and in all its glory. It is important that a group facilitator does everything in their power to facilitate this opportunity for every person with whom they work.
