ABSTRACT

Moreover, there is a lot of empirical evidence that interpersonal relationships are linked to self-reported happiness (Bruni, 2010). Social participation is also strongly associated with whether people view themselves as having good health and it becomes even more important as people get older (Lee et al, 2008). For example, older women who engage in two social activities are more than twice as likely to rate their health as good, compared with those who don’t take part in any activities (Lee et al, 2008).
