ABSTRACT

Most victims of acquaintance rape do not report it to the police or anyone else. They consider it very private, personal, and embarrassing. No Is Not Enough provides information for parents about sexual assault of teenagers to enable them to help teenagers avoid rape or sex they don't want. Parents of adolescents are the target audience because teens between fifteen and twenty-five are the most vulnerable. No Is Not Enough covers acquaintance rape, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and sexual exploitation. Acquaintance rape deserves significant attention because of the enormity of the problem. No Is Not Enough suggests several prevention strategies dealing with group pressures and setting limits ahead of time. It also suggests several areas for cultural change, including clarifying touch within the family, changing sex role expectations, and lessening the impact of media.
