ABSTRACT

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is an extremely effective, flexible and safe gift to share with our next generation. It provides a natural 'missing link' in the practitioner's toolkit for work with families, in education and in support agencies concerned with young people's emotional, behavioural and social resilience. EFT techniques are suited to a huge range of emotional and physical issues across all age ranges and settings of young people. The words that are used in set-up statements in EFT come directly from the individual. An EFT practitioner resists the urge to reframe or add meaning or vocabulary. The applications of self tapping for the family are endless - for issues around self-worth, behaviour, self-esteem, confidence, phobias, relationships, homework, peers, boundaries, trauma and emotional roots of physical issues. An adaptation of the personal peace procedure gives parents a gentle method of addressing negative emotions and limiting beliefs that may stand in the way of their own ability to parent.
