ABSTRACT

For many people Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and other forms of energy psychology rest comfortably within their understanding and way of living. EFT is a unique mix of fascinating influences, historic and new, Western and Eastern. This chapter offers the selection of perspectives and findings by no means a complete picture of EFT. In EFT workshops and sessions throughout the world people usually look and feel calmer within a few rounds of tapping, as emotions or memories emerge and clear. They gain a fresh cognitive perspective on previously troubling issues. The route that the electrical signal follows is a path of least electrical resistance is that people name the meridian energy system. Focused tapping in EFT recreates negative energy or charge in the body specific to an issue before dissipating it. The opportunity for hemispheric integration when using EFT has important implications for children and for anyone with learning challenges or sensory integration disorders.
