ABSTRACT
Taiwan is the greatest obstacle in the normalization of the US-China relations. Even if US-China relations were normalized, it would still be impossible to liberate Taiwan immediately. But since it is part of the territory of China, it is absolutely impermissible not to persist [in the matter of Taiwan] on the basis of reason and to allow a big country like the US to create a theory of "two Chinas." Therefore, striving to foster good US-China relations to diminish one enemy and uniting with still more friends are concrete expressions of Chairman Mao's revolutionary line in foreign policy which are put forth in accordance with the requirements of the situation. As to our relations with the US, a few revolutionary putschists and adventurists do not see accurately the two-sidedness of the US ruling class. They see mostly its reactionary side only and emphasize struggle.
