ABSTRACT

It is common at college level for student-athletes to transfer between schools in search of new opportunities in their sport and academic studies. Transferring between institutions and teams often means transition from one way of operating to other ways of doing things, often leading to different forms of personal stress affecting the student-athlete. This case has a range of issues that might influence sport psychology students. Underperformance is common in college sports, and readers are encouraged to discern its causes and problems, and challenged to develop solutions to the difficulties presented in the case.
