ABSTRACT

This is a complex case involving three coaches, a sport administrator, and a sport psychology practitioner. Sport psychology practitioners are often invited to work with administrators and coaches around key issues affecting the organization and the team. It is possible emerging sport psychology consultants might not be exposed to workings and dealings of organizational life as part of their training, or be in roles requiring them to work through a range of dilemmas connected to a single case. This is the first of a two-part case which is related to other cases in this text, challenging readers to consider how they might cope with the issues presented and contend with ethical dilemmas if they were the sport psychology practitioner in this situation.
