ABSTRACT
The management of the Yellow River and Qin River dikes is extremely important work. The channel of the Yellow River has continuously accumulated silt, and a new situation with new characteristics has appeared. The task of flood prevention on the Yellow River and Qin River dikes has become more complex, so great efforts must be made to strengthen management. Dike management work had to be placed under the unified leadership of the local Party committee. With dike management strengthened, they scored big new achievements in planting trees and spreading greenery, thus following the dual principles of preventing wave action on the river side of the embankment and of obtaining materials from the land side. The Party committees of the communes and the Party branches of the production brigades along the dikes also placed a deputy secretary or committee member in charge of dike maintenance work.
