ABSTRACT

Chapter 10 explores the views and experiences of sport development in relation to community sport from New Zealand Cricket’s community cricket coordinators, and a range of sport development practitioners and administrators from different sports, sports partners, and countries. It considers their understanding of the ‘development of sport’ interpretation of the value of sport and nature of sport development within a community sport setting, and how these align with, and influence, their roles. The chapter also discusses the synergy between the ‘development of sport’ and ‘development through sport’ in a community sport setting.
