ABSTRACT
Under the correct leadership of the Military Affairs Commission and the Central Committee, the entire army has energetically developed the campaign to increase production and practice economy. Army-run industrial and sideline agricultural production must strengthen supervision, improve the organization of production, make great efforts in technical renovation, raise quality, economize on labor power, and reduce production costs. The key to the all-army campaign to increase production and practice economy and attainment of the foregoing important achievements lies in the fact that the whole army enthusiastically responded to the Central Committee's call for diligent striving and self-reliance, and adhered firmly to the Central Committee's directives on increasing production and practicing economy. The Military Affairs Commission and Chief Lin repeatedly instructed the whole army to maintain army's excellent tradition of bitter striving, to share sweetness and hardship with the masses, and never to allow army life to become privileged, never allow army buildings to exceed local standards.
