ABSTRACT
Under the guidance of the line of unity and victory adopted by the Ninth Party Congress, the Railway Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army has implemented Chairman Mao's great policy of "grasp revolution, promote production and other work, and prepare against war", and has gone all out in building railroads and making new contributions to socialist construction of the motherland. Many units, under the condition of heavy tasks with insufficient material, transportation facilities, and machinery, used every means to tap potentials, to improve techniques, and to use old and obsolete tools for building the railway by thrift. In the course of the construction of railroads, the masses of people living along the various lines, under the leadership of the local Party committees, actively participated in the construction by opening transportation links and transporting equipment and materials.
