ABSTRACT

In the various historical stages of the last several decades of development of revolution in China, there always existed in the Party and army two diametrically opposed military lines, which involved acute and violent struggles. One was the proletarian military line represented by Chairman Mao. The other was the bourgeois military line supported by the "Leftist" and Rightist opportunists. Chairman Mao's proletarian military line evolved and developed continually in struggles against the bourgeois military line. Throughout the socialist period, the struggle between the two military lines has been essentially a struggle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie for the military power. This is a component of the struggle between the bourgeois restoration and the proletarian counterrestoration under the conditions of proletarian dictatorship. Chairman Mao's great theory on people's war creatively develops Marxism-Leninism. Chairman Mao's thought on people's war is built on the foundation of a complete trust of and reliance on the masses.
